“We love Geneva; we love going into town and dining, enjoying cocktails, and shopping. But we won’t lie. When it’s a rainy, wet spring like it has been, it’s even better for those same boutiques, wineries, breweries, bakeries, and restaurants to come to us,” said Karen Tomko, community engagement manager of GreenFields of Geneva senior living community.
The residents (and staff) have enjoyed GreenFields’ newly introduced Gems of Geneva program. With great appreciation for all that the town of Geneva has to offer, Gems of Geneva brings distinctive products and services to GreenFields for the residents to enjoy. Two or three times each month, GreenFields hosts popular purveyors of food, beverage, art, and clothing onto the beautiful campus. Last week GreenFields hosted Liz & Kate Boutique. There was a great turnout as residents enjoyed their ‘fabulous and affordable apparel and accessories.
Over the past several months, residents have also experienced wine tasting with Geneva Wine Cellars, decadent delights from Grahams Chocolates, gourmet popcorn from Kernel’s, margaritas from Del Barrio Mezcaleria, treats from Cocoa Bean, and fresh baked goods from Hahn’s Bakery.
On the flip side, residents from GreenFields are increasingly enjoying their excursions into Geneva to visit the businesses that have been hosted. “This program is introducing some of Geneva’s gems to residents while reminding others of the destinations they already enjoy,” said Karen.
